Laryngectomee Information Foundation (LIF)

A Progress Report for Speech Pathologists Who Work with Laryngectomees

Free Book Copies Available

The Laryngectomee Information Foundation (LIF) has provided approximately 20,000 free copies of Edmund Lauder’s book Self Help for the Laryngectomee during our first twenty years. We have had many encouraging calls and letters thanking us for our efforts to initiate a campaign to better inform patients of their options for care, treatment and support after surgery. In turn, we wish to thank all of the speech pathologists, medical professionals and others who have assisted our efforts by getting free book cards out to people who will benefit.

The book is for laryngectomees and is only available to speech pathologists when their name accompanies that of a laryngectomee. There are 70,000 speech pathologists, many more than laryngectomees and our resources would be swiftly used up if we began providing books only to speech pathologists.

Self Help for the Laryngectomee is made available at no cost to all new laryngectomees who have had surgery within the past 48 months. This benefit is provided by the LIF. The LIF was founded by a group of individuals interested in improving the lives of laryngectomees. In time the LIF may be able to provide this valuable reference to all laryngectomees and speech pathologists, however, currently our resources are limited.

We hope you will participate in this program which can provide useful information for your patients at no cost.

Please note that Lauder Enterprises only sells LIF the books.  They do not supply free books.  Do Not Call Them for Free Books.
